When hiring a driver to transport in the United States, you need to put together a driver file.

Several documents must be part of a driver's file according to the various Canadian and American regulations and the commitments made when you registered with the Commission des transports du Québec and the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT). In addition, certain other documents are strongly recommended in order to qualify the safety profile of hired drivers.

Developed and updated in collaboration with Mr. Jean-Jacques Alary of Jean-Jacques Alary Plus Inc., this tool is based on what regulatory agencies such as the Commission des transports du Québec, Contrôle routier Québec and the United States Department of Motor Transport (USDOT) request.

In addition to the Guide, you will find sixteen related interactive forms. The tool indicates the legal reference justifying the use of the form, the time for which the documents are kept as well as the time when the documents must be completed or repeated.
